What is IBPS Clerk exam?

The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) conducts a Common Recruitment Process (CRP) every year for the recruitment of candidates under the Clerical Cadre in multiple banks in India including the Public-Sector banks.

In the IBPS Clerk 2021 exam, the number of vacancies announced are 5830 across all categories. In 2020-21, 2557 vacancies were announced.

The participating banks are:

  1. Bank of India.
  2. Bank of Maharashtra.
  3. Central Bank of India.
  4. Indian Bank Punjab & Sind Bank.
  5. Punjab national Bank.
  6. Union Bank of India.
How much salary can I expect?

The basic salary of an IBPS Clerk is Rs 11,765- Rs 42,020 per month. Rs 11,765 is the basic pay in the IBPS clerk salary, and the remaining pay includes dearness allowance, house rent allowance, medical allowance and transport allowance. The cash in hand concerning the IBPS Clerk salary is Rs 19,461 for those who join initially.

Am I eligible for the test?

Nationality: You must be an Indian citizen.

Educational Qualifications:

  • You must hold a Graduation degree in any discipline from a recognised University or any equivalent qualification which is recognised by the Central Government.
  • You can apply even if you are a final year/semester student provided you can produce your proof of graduation on the date of the interview.
  • You need computer literacy: Working knowledge of computer systems is necessary for the job as well as to give the IBPS PO exam which is conducted in online mode.

You need language proficiency: Verbal and written proficiency in the official language of the State/UT is desirable. The candidate must be able to read, write and speak the language.

Age Limit:

At the time of the registration, your age should NOT be less than 20 years or more than 28 years.

When can I take the test?

These tests are conducted whenever there is an optimal number of vacant posts in the organization. However, the tentative months in the last few years are given below for you:

What is the testing process?

The IBPS PO testing process consists of five stages:

  • Online Prelims exam
  • Online Mains exam

The marks obtained in the Prelims test is only considered for qualification in the Mains test.

What is the paper pattern?

There will be negative marks for wrong answers in the Objective tests. 0.25 marks assigned for question will be deducted for each wrong answer.
