What is NABARD exam?

NABARD (National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development) is a financial institution in India that specializes in the management and provision of credit and other forms of financial assistance to the agricultural and rural sector of the Indian economy.

NABARD conducts two exams – Grade A and Grade B. Grade B officers are hierarchically a step senior to the Grade A ones. Candidates who clear the Grade A exam are basically stationed as assistant managers at NABARD, while those that clear the Grade B exam are stationed as managers.

Vacancies announced in 2021 : 155 (Grade A), and 7 (Grade B), across all categories.

How much salary can I expect?

The Gross Monthly Salaries of the Grade A and Grade B officers are Rs. 70,000/- and Rs. 78,000/- respectively.

Am I eligible for the NABARD exam?

NABARD Grade A: Eligibility Criteria

You should fulfill the following criteria to apply for NABARD Grade-A Recruitments:

· Age Eligibility (as of the first of July) 

You must be between 21 and 30 years of age as of the first of July.

· Educational Qualification 

To be eligible for the Grade A post in the general stream of RDBS, you need to have

  • a Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 60% marks (SC/ST/PWBD applicants – 55%) in aggregate OR
  • a Post Graduate degree, MBA/PGDM with a minimum of 55% marks (SC/ST/PWBD applicants – 50%) in aggregate OR
  • CA/ CS/ICWA OR Ph.D. from Institutions recognised by GOI/UGC

NABARD Grade B: Eligibility Criteria

·  Age Eligibility (as of the first of July) 

The candidate must be between the ages of 25 and 32 years as of the first of July.

· Educational Qualification

To apply for the NABARD Grade B Manager post (RDBS), you need to be

  • a Post Graduate degree holder in any subject with an aggregate of 60% (55% for SC/ST/PWBD), from a recognized university OR
  • you should have a minimum 60% or equivalent in 10th, 12th, Graduation and PG, MBA/PGDM at all levels OR
  • a minimum 60% or equivalent in 10th, 12th, Graduation, PG, and a professional degree, viz., CA/CS/ICWA OR
  • a minimum 60% or equivalent in 10th, 12th, Graduation, PG and Ph.D.
When can I take the test?

These tests are conducted whenever there is an optimal number of vacant posts in the organization. However, the tentative months for both NABARD Grade A & B in the last few years are given below for you:

What is the testing process?

As per the notification, the NABARD Grade A & Grade B selection procedure is a three-stage process that involves the following phases –

  • Preliminary Examination
  • Mains Examination
  • Interview
What is the paper pattern?

For every wrong answer marked, 1/4th of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as penalty in Phase I and Phase II, both.

Cut-offs in Phase I and Phase II may be applied in two stages :

  • On scores in individual tests,
  • On Total Score
