Age Limit | The age of candidates should be between 21 and 30 years. For MPhil and PhD, the upper age limit will be 32 and 34, respectively. Relaxation in the upper age limit will be provided to candidates belonging to the reserved categories |

The RBI Assistant exam has three stages:
- Online Prelims exam
- Online Mains exam
- Language Proficiency Test (LPT)
The RBI Grade B exam has three stages:
- Phase – I (Written test)
- Phase – II (Written test)
- Interview
There will be a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each incorrect answer, no deduction for unanswered questions (for both Prelims and Mains).
The candidates provisionally shortlisted from the main on-line examination will have to undergo a language proficiency test (LPT). The language proficiency test will be conducted in the Official / Local Language of the State concerned as detailed below.
